Another tea, letting candles flicker behind slightly open windows, just to close them feeling the sharp cold on arms and neck. Winter across the neighbourhood. A bit dizzy. Slowing down. Datentransfer quer durch den Kontinent und zurück nach gegenüber, man sieht den Paketen ihre Route nicht an, aber man fühlt eine gewisse Müdigkeit vom Weg. Exkurse in die Außenwelt, im Supermarkt des geringsten Misstrauens ruhen die Warenträger hinter dem Eingangsbereich kalt und leer unter Neonlicht, Rabatt-Aktionen für Feiertagsartikel werden zurückgebaut und die wenigen Nachbarn, die jetzt hier auf den Beinen sind, laden Kartoffeln, Rotkohl, klare alkoholische Getränke in ihre Wägen und Körbe. Bunte Kerzen blinken an einer dunklen Kette. Der Augenblick eingebettet in Weihnachtspop.

Nacht im Verklingen, früh genug noch für den Nachhall der trüben Stunden. Seltsame Gedanken über Dienst, Pflicht, Ziel und Richtung. Es ist kälter geworden, die Höfe tragen wieder diesen Atem alter Kohlenöfen in sich, den das Viertel schon seit Jahrzehnten kennt und der jeden Winter wiederkehrt. Träume und Schlaf aus den Augen von den Wangen spülen. Arme strecken, senkrecht nach oben, bis die Zehenspitzen nicht mehr tragen und der eigene Mechanismus knackt. Kaffee, Roggenbrot, Käse. Irgendetwas reibt immer, auch vor dem Planungstakt. Habt es mild heute.

(Abendküche, unsicherer Griff, heißes Wasser, das über Haut und Arbeitsflächen gen Boden fließt. Schmerzende Hände. Den Schreck nicht unterdrückt, den Ärger irgendwie schon. Und dann kurz unter dem Himmel der Höfe, zwischen Wänden und Bäumen. Mülltonnen klappern und quietschen, leere Kisten stapeln sich, eine Stadtkatze verharrt geduckt zwischen den Sträuchern. Etagen weiter oben sind die Türen geöffnet. Hier duftet der Flur nach Gebäck und Waschnüssen, Kinder lachen. Nochmal Tee, noch eine Kerze. Und tief durchatmen.)

Schon wieder spürbar Nachmittag, der Platz zwischen den Buden wird voller, der Abstand zu Mitmenschen geringer. Fremde Pelze, Winterkostüme, Repräsentation und Selbstdarstellung. Ein fremdes Kind erschrickt und weint, weil ein fremder großer Hund die halb gegessene Süßspeise erst zur Kenntnis nimmt und dann ableckt. Nebenan verkauft man Glühwein mit Schuss, zum Verweilen finden sich bequemen Sofas im Zelt und die Gespräche lassen überzeugte Stammgäste vermuten. Schon wieder fast Dämmerung. Die Luft ist warm.
