This is something I've always missed - here as well.
When the Australians post, they post alone. That should not be - they have the largest concentrations of humanity in their neigbourhood timezones.

There used to be posters from the indian subcontinent here.
The same for Russians and Italians.
It is not just language - the machine translators can work well.
They've all gone away to their own part of the fediverse, or to their own national centralised social networks or the american ones.
Sad. Everyone in their own bubble.

@harry haller Yes... and the Fediverse basically seems to by design encourage this kind of bubbledom. Like, by making stuff on local instances easy, making discovery hard and all too often blaming people who raise these issues to be just lazy and falling for convenience rather than decentralisation. A sad mess indeed. 😔
