Take this as an example. Why bother to put up a price at all? You can disable it on bandcamp. If it's a licensing issue, the band wouldn't be allowed to put it up at all.
It's not that common, but especially with extreme metal i come across such albums more regularly. It annoys the hell out of me. Bandcamp is supposed to include a digital version. Not everyone wants physical media.

There are some physical media gatekeepers on Bandcamp for sure, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you actually want to make some money for your work. But there it is. Jake and I have run across a few of them in the metal community. And so that we're clear, these people literally say that they don't care what anyone thinks about it. Often in not a very nice way. Fair enough, I won't be buying (or hearing) your record.

@💀⛧ RandomMusickMayhem ⛧💀 Ah ok. Haven't seen /this/ so far. Just stumbled across releases like this - fiadh.bandcamp.com/album/veln - once in a while where they try to make people go for the band or artist page directly for the download. Not sure what Bezdan are up to, here. Indeed seems like some label keeping their hands on the release. Weird.

@umrk @z428eu Thanks! But still, they should either disable the buy option on the band page and put up a link to the label or ditch the extra site completely. If you come up on their page first, i will be still annoyed. But i have to admit, that the lack of all physical media should be a red flag and got me thinking.
But there are also bands, that offer all kinds of physical media for the usual price and then put up made up prices for the digital version. And there is no label involved. In this case i am back to square one.
Or maybe i am just a weirdo, that doesn't want physical media.

@💀⛧ RandomMusickMayhem ⛧💀 I'm unsure to which extent bandcamp.com has certain rules to adhere with, at this point. Like, I also read in some longform/glitch albums that artists added a second random/pointless/empty track because they weren't able to add an album with just one song on it.🙈
