Regarding Tusky: I've read that some users complain about a lagging behaviour today. So if that happens to you - be aware that it might just be a temporary hiccup.

In general, I've been through 3 or 4 apps and finally stuck with a "homepage icon" on my android that simply launches my web browser.

Reason why I wasn't satisfied with the apps was that they overcomplicated the whole stuff and most of them didn't make it easy to use alt text in pictures, set toot language, etc. But then again, that's like 3 years ago and these apps probably received updates for the respective features in the meanwhile?

Commented on your other post before I saw this, my bad. It's not offered as an android app on any store/repo, but: Phanpy. It has so many useful features like posts that will show replies as a branching thread so it's significantly easier to follow conversations. Or grouping boosts. Or the ability to "switch" to some other instance and see if you're missing interactions/replies because federation be (or not) federating.

The mobile version is great, and its a PWA (progressive web app) so it can kinda be installed as an app from Firefox. Can help you do that if you'd like, if you end up trying it and like it. Lemme know!

@CathyBikesBook On Google Play, Rodent used to have a few interesting features such as grouping posts by author. #phanpy on the web is great, comes with a bunch of interesting features too. Fedilab might be the most feature-laden ones of these but it feels a bit slow compared to Tusky or Moshidon. Would be interested to know, though, whether there's something you're missing in the Mastodon client - that might be of help providing good suggestions. 😊
