The downside of freedom of choice in these situations is waste, in many aspects, including waste of my very personal time of jumping between different clients, noticing all of them come with issues that are annoying enough to not use them exclusively, and also noticing that writing issue reports - not even talking feature requests - that end up on an ever-growing pile and eventually down the drain and archive of some discontinued project.
