When I, kneeling down in the snow, took this photo, this morning, someone stopped and asked me what I was photographing. I just said that there was something appealing about this little lump of ice that had rolled down and left a trail. How could I explain that part of my brain was singing "Keep rollin', rollin', rollin'" while another part imagined an albino penguin running in the snow, about to jump off the cliff into the water, while I made a mental note to look up whether albino penguins really exist, and a third part formed a story that began with ‘Once upon a time, there was a little chicken/penguin/whatever...wandering around in the snow...’🙈 #365moments #Smartphonepic #Photography

Kraniche auf braunen Furchen. Tauwetter tropft aus den Bäumen. Und doch kühlt der Nachmittag wieder ab. Immer noch tief in verschiedenen Seiten des Winters.

Einschlafen als Ritual und Übung, wie das Erwachen danach. Bislang kein Bild vom Wetter, aber der Fetzen Himmel zwischen den Vorhängen lässt gewisse Annahmen zu. Träume verfliegen, Tag sucht Form, Kaffee fehlt noch, aber um diese Stunde kann man damit leben. Insel im Gemüt, und langsam auch in Gedanken. Habt es mild heute.
!Friendica Support I'm using the Tumblr connector to import my remote timeline and see that it's lagging behind by more or less two weeks. Any way to fix that?
@Michael 🇺🇦 Nothing special. I just see Tumblr posts that, according to both Friendica and my Tumblr timeline, have been created/shared two weeks ago and received one or two minutes ago. This difference/delay doesn't seem to change anymore at the moment.

@Michael 🇺🇦 Yes. I tried to temporarily dis- and re-enable fetching remote timeline, doesn't change anything though. Also, just double-checked, the entries actually /are/ that old on Tumblr as well, newer ones on my instance only are those I manually fetched by searching for them.
Another evening near the port, another evening staring out across the thick layer of ice and the very different mood of light it carries. A police car parking near the quay. A group of young tourists laughing on the pedestrian bridge. The restaurant is closed, chairs resting on tables, dimly lit by red bulbs. Hibernation in everything, and a bit of that kind of detachment to be here for, at this time of year. Have a soft night wherever you are.
Alleen, schnurgerade und eng. Hochspannungstrassen schneiden die Felder, verschwinden schnell im Grau des Wetters. Eine Haltestelle, nur ein Fahrplan auf einer Metalltafel und eine alte Bank aus Betonteilen. Leere Dorfgasthöfe, verwitterte Scheunen, großflächige Proklamationen der örtlichen Bürgerinitiative. Hühner, Enten, wackelnde Gardinen. Der Horizont fühlt sich ferner denn je an.

Der Tag hat unzählige Sorten von Eis und Schnee und Nebel, aber das fahle Licht bleibt gleich, mit einer Ahnung von Sonne, die dann trotzdem nicht genug Kraft hat. Steilküste, Altstadt. Ehemalige Quartiere, ganz knappe Stimmungsbilder in alten Erinnerungen, die ganz nah und doch unerreichbar sind. Ein Busch voller Spatzen. Und dann Tee. Am Fenster. Gewohnheiten. Abseits des Treibens.
A little later and still drifting in hazy white. The sound of unseen ship engines, a few locals chatting about weather and winter. 9am and on, the coast is mostly quiet again.
Nachtträume Morgenträume ungeordnete Gedanken und immer noch Wolken ohne Struktur über der Bucht. Der Leuchtturm ruht verlassen, ein Transporter wendet auf schneebedecktem Parkplatz. Schiffshorn, Möwengespräche, erste Schritte nach draußen und zurück. Dann dunkle Brötchen, schwarzer Kaffee. Und der Hauch eines neuen Buches. Aufbruch, ohne auf Sonne zu warten. Habt es mild heute.

Another evening passing, in that armchair near the window to gaze across the harbour and its smaller roads. One of the streetlights is flickering, and mind tries to make sense of patterns and frequency. Red and green signals of the ships seem easier to read and there's an almost hypnotic quality to those. (Putting chairs and dishes in its places. Briefly cleaning up for the new morning. A shower, hot, cold, and a soft towel. A bed. Dreams at least as an option. Sleep tight everyone wherever you are.)
