New Update: It worked!!!! I have a functioning ipad again. The thing: I needed to connect the Ipad directly to the Mac, not over a hub (which I have lying around on my desk for various purposes). Then the update and reset was done in five minutes.
Update: the tip worked! The ipad is being restored! Thank you all for your boosts and tips 🙏🤗
Does anyone know a way to get access to an ipad (older model, but with home-button), when it has locked completely due to too many failed password attempts? I've tried the "hold the home-button and upper button until it resets" #FollowerPower boosts welcome

Curious to see what might be around.
Respectfully, and as a newish user from a special interest group, I disagree. There's a large and vibrant #blind community on Mastodon that couldn't exist on any other platform.
