And then at some point silence becomes more prevalent and the mind is willing to let it sink in again. Another short stay at the back door, just to feel the air of night and collect a few sounds from the village surroundings. Lowlife in bushes, a distant car, the idea of a conversation somewhere out in the darkness but maybe that's little more than a side-effect of senses slightly overstimulated. Aufgebrochen weitergezogen mit der Sonne. Lange Kurven, sanfter Himmel, unbedeckte Gradienten und irgendwann die alt-heimischen Waldzüge am Horizont, jene Stelle, an der sich eine schüchterne Gruppe von Bäumen zwischen Hochspannungsmasten zu drängen scheint und der alte schmutzige Traktor den Feldweg abseits der Landstraße entlangrast, um schließlich zwischen Teichen und Windrädern zu verschwinden. Vorabend, aber als Zwischenstimmung.

Und da ist Dorfmorgen, einigermaßen uneben und verschlafen. Nacht verweht im Klang der Kirchglocken. Neues vorsichtiges Licht. Flügelschläge in den Büschen vorm Fenster, die Schalen von Sonnenblumenkernen fallen zu Boden, ein Schatten verschwindet. Erste Schritte treppab, durch kalte Flure. Gänsehaut unter dem Bademantel. Noch kein Kaffee, wenig Plan, Monatsgrenze. Vor allem für sich selbst noch keine Worte, die sich weich anfühlen. Das Haus erwacht langsam und schweigend. Habt es mild heute!

Wind schüttelt hohe Bäume aus, die Ortskatze versteckt sich unter dem Vordach. Kaffee aus altem Geschirr, und die Wärme von Wohnküchen. Mindestens ebenso alt.

Eisblumen, Vögel sammeln Körner aus dem Futterhaus, die schwarzweiße Katze schleicht um froststarrende Büsche und wartet darauf, dass die Haustür sich für den neuen Tag öffnet.
