Aufschrecken mit dem gewohnten elektrischen Ton, unsichere Blicke zu Wand Fenster Tür, bis sich Raum und Zeit wieder zusammenfinden und Tag, Stunde klar werden. Montagsfreitag, Freitagsmontag. Das Treppenhaus kleidet sich in Stille, entlang der Höfe schweigen Türen und Fenster und die eigene wache Gegenwart entsteht noch aus fliehenden Traumbildern, denen Handlung oder Struktur beizeiten abhanden kam. Ein tiefes Gähnen, der eigene Spiegel, das eigene Grau. Und noch kein Kaffee. Habt es mild heute.

Finally: Concluding the day, almost at the same hour at which it started, but miles apart and quite a bit more tired. Amazing how little time the mind takes to get accustomed to the common surroundings, how fast the senses recollect the evening proceedings of a sleepy city neighbourhood. Christmas echoes, familiar movies in warm colours on huge screens. A balcony in dim window light, housing bunches of empty bottles. A cab parking second row, waiting for whoever feels like moving on through this evening. Contemplating, letting the candles rest, listening to the distance and again waiting for stars to come out. Sleep tight everyone wherever you are.

Schon wieder diesseits des Dunkels. Noch einmal funkelndes Licht über den Wolkenkratzern, in bunten Farben und den Mustern künstlicher Blumen, die in Sekundenbruchteilen erblühen und welken und wieder Nachthimmel werden. Eine Kehrmaschine rumpelt den Bordstein entlang, fährt Kurven durch leere Buchten, verschwindet blinkend und dröhnend in der Seitenstraße. Statisches Rauschen. Korrespondenzen. Viele Gedanken blieben im letzten Jahr, viele Fäden leben noch in jenem zeitlosen Nirgendwo dazwischen.

(Touristen, Überreste von Feuerwerk auf den Gehwegen, rostige Container voller ehemaliger Weihnachtsbäume und Sturmböen, die fast ungebremst über die Sinne kratzen. Schnee blieb in den Hügeln zurück, die Stadt liegt müde in dichtem Grau. Wieder ankommen, wieder die Verbindungen herstellen zu den Alltagen und ihrer Umgebung. Uhr und Zeitgefühl könnten einander heute nicht heftiger widersprechen.)
